River & Bean, Ayr

For Organisations

Private space, coffee, fundraising and practical partnership in Ayr.

Current position

Private cafe space. Booking-led, partner-friendly and not currently open daily for public drop-in use.

New online services. Booking, subscriptions and home delivery launch on 11th September 2026.

River & Bean works with charities, clubs, community groups, social enterprises, support organisations, campaign groups, schools, student groups, microbusinesses and for-good projects that need calm, private, flexible space.

We are not currently a daily open public cafe or coworking space. We are booking-led, which means organisation use matters. It helps keep the venue available, and it helps us avoid turning a useful shared space into either a standard profit-first venue or a closed private let.

Organisations Can Use River & Bean For

Booking Options

Standard private hire

Use the space for 3 hours or 6 hours, with basic coffee and tea included.

Daylong or multi-day hire

Useful for training, planning, recurring projects, fundraising, partner programmes or intensive organisation work.

Base of Operations bookings

Use River & Bean as a private base during a group trip, volunteering day, town-centre activity, beach visit or campaign day.

Trusted organisation membership

Approved organisations may be able to train staff or volunteers in site operations so they can use the venue more affordably and responsibly.

Monthly Meetings Plus Quarterly Fundraisers

For charities, clubs and member organisations, the strongest model may be regular use plus occasional fundraising.

A suitable subscription or membership route could cover monthly committee meetings, planning sessions or club use. The same organisation could then use River & Bean to run a quarterly fundraiser, ticketed talk, workshop, exhibition extension, training session, drinks-supported event or merch sale.

If the fundraiser sells well, it may cover or reduce the cost of the venue hire around it. That can make River & Bean a money earner, a cost saver, or both.

It also means no monthly hunt for a venue, no haggling from scratch, no "who has the Zoom link?" archaeology, and no pretending a committee meeting has gone well because only three people had audio problems.

Ticketed Events, Merch and Turn-Key Fundraising

Subject to agreement and suitability, organisations can create events and sell tickets, event merch, drinks or fundraising products through the River & Bean system.

This can work especially well for charities, clubs and for-good groups because it combines:

You remain the organiser of your event. River & Bean facilitates the venue, sales route and agreed support.

You may also choose to take payment yourself in cash or through your own payment provider, while using River & Bean to manage the event listing, tickets and attendance where agreed.

Community, Charity and Member Pricing

Supported pricing depends on the organisation, purpose, booking pattern, membership or subscription route, and whether the booking is linked to fundraising.

Available support may include:

This lets us support useful work without pretending the space has no costs. Rent, utilities, supplies, mileage and cleaning remain stubbornly real.

Fundraising With River & Bean

Organisations can raise funds through River & Bean products and services, including:

Support can be directed to your organisation where agreed, or to the River & Bean Fresh Ayr Fund.

Partner-Led Sessions

We are interested in partners who can help run useful, responsible sessions without turning River & Bean into an unmanageable public drop-in.

Possible areas include:

Partner-led sessions need clear responsibility, staffing, safeguarding where relevant, and honest pricing.

Access and Suitability

The current River & Bean venue is a basement space and is not step-free.

If your group includes people with access, mobility, sensory or support needs, please contact us before booking. We will be direct about whether the space is suitable and what can be adjusted.

Professional Support Wanted

We also welcome donated professional expertise from people and organisations willing to partner with us on:

We are looking for practical support, not advice-shaped fog. Fog has yet to pay an invoice.
